A community on the Vasfúvó hill
Kerecsen practises the sport, martial discipline and cultural heritage of equestrian archery above Csiba. The work brings children and adults together.

A track built by a community
Lőrincz Rómeó began practising equestrian archery with several friends in 2015. He entered the Kassai School of Horseback Archery in 2018. In October 2019 he became an international judge, and Romania’s first official Original Kassai System track was recognised at the same time.
The practice ground on the Vasfúvó hill was completed in 2021. Earth was moved, sand was carried to the hilltop, and locally made equipment helped furnish the site. Simon Szilárd supported the earthworks.

The ground reveals itself in motion
The horse sets the rhythm of every run. The slope, the light and the nearby mountains give practice a character that a single photograph cannot fully hold.

The work behind every run
Early reporting describes shared stable work, horse care and conversations after training. Maintaining the ground is part of the community’s daily practice.
Coverage of the 2021 opening records that members made much of the specialist equipment locally. This practical knowledge gives tradition a working life.

The sport leaves the hill
Kerecsen also shows equestrian archery away from its own ground, in indoor arenas, at schools and during public programmes. The two recordings here come from a Children’s Day demonstration and from the Icelandic riding hall in Ivó.
